School Bond Passage
All bonds will still require 60% voter approval!
The legislative bill that 'would have' lowered the current school bond passage rate from current 60% to 55% failed! It still reqiures 60% approval by the voters to pass school bonds. And - in April any levy or bond measure must be published in a paper voter's guide and mailed to every registered voter in the distrtict that the measure is being run. This applies to all measures whether they occur during special or general elections. No more 'STEALTH' elections tactics by school district or fire district.
It will be necessary for all districts to seek out opposition groups to write oppostion statements for the 'printed' voters's guides. Believe it or not - some school districts did not require these statements or to have them published until now.
